Summer Learning Journey : The Final Post!

Hi bloggers, i have attended the summer learning journey 2018 - 2019. Here are my activity's.

Activity 3: Concluding the Journey [10 points]
What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme this year?
I have learn't a lot of things. But the one that stood out well for me at least was that New Zealand was once governed as part of the territory of New South Wales and later a part of Australia. I found that shocking. i didn't know that at all.
What is one thing that surprised you?
That a Sea Turtle lives for 80 years. I didn't know that a turtles lifespan can last that long!
What is one thing that concerned or upset you?
The thing that upset me was that Summer Learning Journey is over!
What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment?
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Thanks For Reading (Special Thanks To Summer Learning Journey Team Members)

  1. Kia ora Luseanne,

My name is Georgia and I am the Kaikohekohe (Northland) Cluster Manager. Megan and Cia have just shared that you completed your last activity with them at the Community Centre, that is awesome! I am sure they are very proud of your hard work this summer.

Congratulations on finishing all 60 activities from the Summer Learning Journey! This is a huge accomplishment and requires a lot of determination and hard work, ka pai. Reduce, reuse and recycle is a very good saying to remember in everyday life. This year I hope to set up a compost bin at my new home in Wellington so that I am not throwing my food scraps into the rubbish bin.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday and will spend some time commenting on other students work and earning those extra 2 points for every positive, thoughtful and helpful comment that you make. If you'd like to comment on some of the students from other clusters, follow this link: https://sites.google.com/a/manaiakalani.org/connected-learners-share/sljtwitterfeeds

    Cheers,
    Georgia.

  3. Hi Luseane,

Congratulations on completing all 60 activities from the Summer Learning Journey. I am so proud of the time and effort you have put into all of your activities. You have been determined to make your way to the end of the programme and you did it! Well done! You should be proud of yourself.

I am so glad you have enjoyed the programme, I am also sad that your journey is over as I will not be seeing more amazing SLJ posts from you. However, I do know that I will be seeing comments from you on other participants activities as I have already noticed you typing away. Ka pai!

I think you have identified a great way that you and I can help protect the environment. It is important for us to be aware of our environmental footprint and do what we can to limit our damage. Limiting our plastic usage and litter is an important first step. Maybe you can make a pact with your household to stop bringing plastic bags home from the supermarket. Do you think they would be up for the challenge?

I am so proud of you, Luseane. It really is an incredible accomplishment for you to finish the entire programme. I hope you are proud of yourself, too. Thank you for joining us at the Wesley Community Centre today. It was great to hang out with you and be a part of your final activities.

    Well done, Luseane,
    Megan :)

You are right we have learnd alot of things well participateing in in this journey.
The one thing I would say that surprised me was how many animals were getting extinct.

I would have to all so agree that the 1 upsetting thing was that SLJ was over. But what upset me more was how many people pass away from air pollution.

It's ashame that the journey has to end, you've done such a great job

Anyways keep up the great work.

    Thanks
    Araura
